Thanks to innovations in trenchless technology, repairing a damaged subsurface pipeline no longer requires excavating down to the pipe from the ground surface. Our personnel here at A-1 Total Service Plumbing are experts when it comes to pipe relining in Orange County, CA. Below is important information to help you decide whether this strategy might be right for your property.

The Trenchless Pipe Lining Process From Start to Finish

We begin every trenchless pipe relining job with a complete inspection of the line using a waterproof sewer camera. If necessary, the pipe is hydro jetted to improve visibility and to remove loose material and tree roots that could negatively impact the placement of the new lining. A flexible, epoxy-coated liner is then inserted into the pipe through an existing drain or valve. After a brief curing period, the line is reinspected and returned to service.

When We Recommend Trenchless Pipe Services

Trenchless pipelining offers a convenient way to restore the structural integrity of cracked or separated sewer lines. The technique also creates a smooth new surface inside an old pipe that seals out damaging tree roots and prevents further deterioration from corrosive, high-strength wastewater.

The Advantages of Trenchless Pipe Repair

Our professional trenchless pipe repair services won’t cause damage to landscaping, hardscaping, and paved surfaces because all the work is managed within the confines of the existing pipe. The process is highly cost-effective and very quick to perform, and the results are comparable to or even better than traditional pipe replacement work. To learn more about the many advantages of trenchless pipe repairs, contact us today at Total Service Plumbing. We’ll gladly answer your questions and schedule an appointment to provide you with foolproof trenchless solutions ASAP!

When your commercial or residential property experiences sewer problems, your priority is fixing the issue quickly and efficiently. Our expert team at A-1 Total Service Plumbing offers trenchless repairs, such as pipe bursting and CIPP lining, to effectively address damaged pipes without needing costly and time-consuming excavation.

How Pipe Bursting Works

While trenchless pipe relining is a great option for repairing small sections of the damaged pipe, pipe bursting can replace entire pipelines in one efficient process. This technique involves using a hydraulic system to pull a bursting tool through the affected pipe, fracturing it into small pieces while simultaneously replacing it with a new one.

Pipe bursting is a reliable solution for extremely deteriorated or collapsed lines. Like trenchless pipelining, it is mainly applicable when excavation isn’t desirable or practical, such as where the sewer line runs under a road or other hardscaping structures.

Benefits of Pipe Bursting

Sewer relining offers many advantages when it comes to repairing damaged pipes. Pipe bursting, as a trenchless pipe replacement technique, is no different. Here are some of the key benefits:

  1. Pipe Bursting is Minimally Invasive

Conventional underground sewer line repair and replacement requires heavy equipment to dig deep and long trenchless through your lawn or driveway. This excavation can cause extensive damage that requires a lot of money and time to repair. On the other hand, pipe bursting requires only a smaller access point to get to the pipe, leaving your landscaping undisturbed.

  1. Pipe Bursting is Convenient

This method can be used on various types of pipe material, including cast iron, clay, concrete, and PVC. It’s also the only trenchless pipe repair solution that can install a bigger diameter pipe than what initially existed.

  1. Pipe Bursting is Affordable

Traditional sewer replacement requires digging up large sections of your property to access and replace pipelines. Once the job is completed, dealing with the aftermath can be daunting and costly. Extra labor translates to additional costs. Cast iron pipe relining requires a few technicians and a small entry point, keeping your property intact and saving you money on restoration costs.

  1. Pipe Bursting is Safe

Sewage, mold, asbestos, and other hazardous contaminants thrive underground. When you dig them up, you expose yourself to a host of health risks. Trenchless pipe reline services no longer require technicians to dig, helping you avoid these risks.

  1. Pipe Bursting is Durable

This repair method results in a new seamless pipe designed to last for decades. The new pipelines are jointless, so there’s no risk of cracking or breaking down due to root infiltration. Hence, you won’t have to worry about pipe root intrusion repair for a long time.

Whether you need pipe relining in Anaheim, CA, or complete pipeline replacement, A-1 Total Service Plumbing is here to help. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

The prospect of discovering broken or damaged pipes is something every property owner dreads. Whether it’s a sewer or water line, damaged pipes can cause several issues if left unaddressed for too long. At A-1 Total Service Plumbing, we offer trenchless pipe relining that can address your plumbing problems efficiently and quickly.

While trenchless pipe lining has become more common when it comes to sewer repair, there are some factors our experts consider before determining the most appropriate repair method. These include:

Location of the Affected Pipe

Cured-in-place pipe lining, or CIPP, involves minimal ground disturbance and digging. This means they are ideal for water or sewer lines in hard-to-reach areas or locations where traditional excavation would be impractical.

Our trained technicians perform all the required pipe repair work within the constraints of the existing piping system without causing damage to plants and structures located above ground.

The Severity of the Damage

Severely crushed pipes or those with wide gaps between sections may require traditional underground sewer line repair. On the other hand, we can restore cracked, corroded, or slightly separated pipes using one of our trenchless techniques.

Time Required for Repairs

With traditional methods, the excavation needed to repair or replace damaged pipes could take several days to complete and may inflict property damage. Today, trenchless sewer relining technology allows our experts to perform the same work in a fraction of the time with little to no digging.

Cost

You must also consider the cost of both trenchless pipe reline services and traditional repair methods. Although trenchless repair might seem expensive upfront, it might be more cost-effective in the long run due to its minimal disruption to the surrounding area and the durability of the relining material.

The Type of Damage

If a pipe’s failure to function correctly is caused by shifting ground, it might not be a good candidate for cast iron pipe relining. Trenchless repair methods are usually beneficial when the damage is caused by corrosion and other age-related issues.

Root intrusion is also a common cause of pipe damage. The great news is that pipe root intrusion repair can be done without excavation. Our plumbing experts will use non-invasive techniques to remove roots and other obstructions in the pipe before using CIPP to reline it.

A-1 Total Service Plumbing specializes in pipe relining in Orange, CA. Whether you’re dealing with a damaged sewer or water line, we’ll carefully inspect your pipes to diagnose the problem and offer a solution that best fits your needs. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Replacing an entire plumbing system, aside from being a tedious and invasive process, is quite an expensive prospect. Fortunately, you can opt for a cheaper, more efficient and absolutely less invasive pipe rehabilitation method: trenchless relining.

But before you do pipe relining in La Habra CA and other surrounding cities, it’s best to know and understand all the pros and cons of the procedure.

What is Trenchless Relining?

Trenchless pipe relining is a specialized pipe lining process designed to address the problem of leaking or deteriorating pipe. The advantage that this process has is that it eliminates the need for excavation and replacement of the entire pipe, thereby reducing costs and ensuring a more economical long-term solution.

Why Should You Choose Trenchless Relining?

There are many reasons you should consider trenchless relining over conventional pipe repairs. The main advantage of cast iron pipe relining, for instance, is that it is less disruptive than traditional relining methods. When considering this method, you need to know whether the existing pipes can support the new materials being installed. The trenchless method may be the best choice if the old pipes are cracked, broken, heavily deteriorated or have a low flow capacity. While having trees adds beauty and value to most homes, root intrusion can be a major problem with sewer systems. Trenchless relining often is a very effective method of repair with these issues. In addition, if you’re relining a service line, it’s a good idea to choose the trenchless option.

Pros of Trenchless Relining

Trenchless relining has many advantages, including reduced excavation time and disruption, better flow capacity, and extended service life. Reduced excavation time and disruption are especially important for underground sewer line repair. The improved flow capacity is because the new pipe is installed at the same level as the old one.

Cons of Trenchless Relining

While the benefits, more often than not, outweigh the disadvantages, there are certain things you should keep in mind before choosing trenchless relining for pipe root intrusion repair. As an example, there may be a risk of gas intrusion when relining gas lines. To avoid this, you can opt for non-corrosive pipe material.

There’s also the fact that trenchless relining may not be an option if the existing pipes are too badly damaged.

The A-1 Total Service Plumbing team was called out to Yorba Linda to perform underground restoration of 10″, 12″ and 18″  heating and air-conditioning duct lines. When restoring old, corroded duct lines, some cases require the A-1 team to use different types of CIPP or epoxy to first reseal the duct lines. However, on this project in Yorba Linda, we were able to initially fill these duct lines with the coating supplied to us from Duct Armor USA.
Duct Armor is an EPA fresh air approved coating specifically designed for duct lines for residential, commercial and industrial applications. It is also approved for hospitals and laboratories across the United States. If you live or work in Yorba Linda, or surrounding areas of Orange County, please contact A-1 Total Service Plumbing to have an inspection done of your duct lines!
